Sophomore standing or consent of instructor. (3).

Philosophical study of feelings, concepts and judgments arising from the appreciation of art or beautiful things. Classical questions in aesthetics such as “What is a work of art?” and “Is beauty connected to moral virtue?” addressed through works from the Western and Eastern traditions and critiques of the Western tradition.  Graded ABCDE. Offered infrequently.
