MTH 563 - Games and Game Theory

Admission to Mathematics MA program. (3-4).

Analysis of both combinatorial and sociological games. Topics include Nim and Nim-like games, Hex, the Sprague-Grundy Theorem, zero-sum games, the prisoner’s dilemma, Nash equilibria, linear programming. Individual projects allow students to investigate games of their own choice. Not open to students with credit for MTH 363 . Graded ABCDE.
