At least junior standing; one from PHL 101 , PHL 162 , PHL 165 , PHL 167 /WGS 167 , PHL 168 , PHL 170 PHL 202 , PHL 203 /AFA 203 , PHL 271 , or another PHL course with override from department secretary; or consent of instructor. (3).

Children’s literature as a vehicle for philosophical discussion. Views of the nature of concepts such as the self and self-awareness, life and death, reality and illusion, reason and emotion, and freedom and responsibility. Devices used in philosophical inquiry compared with forms of thinking usually associated with children. Graded ABCDE. Offered infrequently.
