Basic principles of pharmacology and concepts of cell biology and physiology useful to the field. Molecular pharmacology (receptor structure and activation, and signal transduction), autonomic pharmacology (how drugs act through the autonomic nervous system), and neuropharmacology (neurotransmitter networks and brain pathways, and the drugs that act specifically on synapses that control these pathways).
