Rationale, theory, and methods for teaching composition to middle and secondary school students in both language arts and content area fields. Concepts of the writing process; techniques for generating, responding to, and evaluating writing; writing across the curriculum; structuring writing courses and programs. Requires field experience in local schools or preparation of an in-service presentation. Not open to students with credit for EDR 446 or ENG 412. Also listed asENG 512.
