Post-Graduate Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate

School of Nursing (SON)

The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) certificate program is designed to educate nurses who want to manage and improve outcomes for culturally diverse populations of acutely ill patients with complex and often chronic illnesses across the adult life span. The AGACNP provides coordination and continuity of care for acute and chronic illness, and guides transition back to the community and primary care providers.

Graduates are qualified to sit for the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification examination.

The certificate may be earned in conjunction with a degree program or as a stand-alone credential.  (Students pursuing a stand-alone credential are not eligible for federal financial aid and may not participate in Commencement.)  After the student applies for graduation, the certificate is posted to the student’s official transcript and an official diploma stating the area of the certificate is issued.
