Supply Chain Management (MS)

The Supply Chain Management Master of Science program is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the growing supply chain management profession, in response to the reshoring of manufacturing in the US.  Students with undergraduate supply chain management backgrounds may be eligible to have some coursework waived.

The MS Program provides:

• A focused, comprehensive supply chain management master’s degree that provides excellent preparation for a career in the field, without need for an undergraduate degree in supply chain management
• A convenient, 21-credit pathway for UM-Flint BBA students to complete a master’s degree within a year of finishing the BBA.

Admission Information

Transfer of Credit

Transfer credit is limited to a maximum of nine credits in graduate courses completed in the last 5 years with grades of B (3.0) or better, during enrollment as a graduate student at an AACSB-accredited program, and must not be part of another degree.  Exceptions to this rule are accepted only in unusual circumstances and then only by approval of the SOM Curriculum Committee.  See Graduate Study for additional information on University of Michigan-Flint policies on the transfer of graduate credit.

Course Waivers

Up to 9 credits of course waivers are considered, and only at the time of admission to the MS program.  Equivalency is determined by the AACSB-International accreditation status of the institution, or by the School of Management Curriculum Committee.  Grades in equivalent courses are also considered.  Two undergraduate courses are needed to waive a graduate course. The program provides 9 or 12 waiver/transfer credits based on MITx MicroMasters® completed coursework.  Waivers reduce the number of credits required to complete the MS degree.  Graduates of UM-Flint’s Supply Chain Management major who may have taken undergraduate versions of the coursework will not be asked to repeat these courses at graduate level.  However, completion of a minimum of 21 graduate credit hours at the University of Michigan-Flint is required.

Time Limit for Degree Completion

All requirements must be completed within seven calendar years of initial enrollment in the program.
