NUR 664 - Nurse Educator Role-Seminar and Practicum


Concurrent election of NUR 663  or consent of Program Director. (3).

In seminar, the student examines the multidimensional nature of the academic nurse educator role including teaching, scholarship, and service that require balance and ongoing commitment to develop and maintain competencies in each dimension. In practicum, the student integrates learning gained in NUR 660 through NUR 663 and demonstrates nurse educator competencies in a selected educational setting under the supervision of a preceptor. Each student will select a setting according to his/her career goals in nursing education to explore a selected nurse educator role. The student will spend 112 hours in practicum settings to gain expected competencies as a nurse educator. Graded ABCDE. [“”]
