Survey of environmental hazards and resultant natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, tsunami, volcanic eruptions, mass movements, forest fires, and weather events such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and nor’easters. Study of impacts on society and human responses at local, national and international levels. Methods of hazard mitigation are researched, discussed, and presented. Lecture and discussion.
