Introduction to dance and social justice in the United States and abroad, examining how dance can serve as an empowering agent for political action and social change by mobilizing the human body and collective.  Physical performance in class paired with analysis and discussion of classical, contemporary, and hip hop dances taking place both in the streets and across digital networks.  Particular attention paid to the intersections of race, gender, class, ability, and environmental justice. Graded ABCDE
