Exploration of principles and purposes of assessment in educational settings. Techniques and strategies of ongoing instructional assessment; how to use the information gained to deepen knowledge of children and guide instructional planning. Particular focus placed upon assessment issues specific to early childhood and elementary grades, use of assessment to support curriculum standards for children from birth through age 8. Graded ABCDE
