EGR 310 - Engineering Economic Analysis


EGR 102  with a grade of C (2.0) or better or concurrent election of EGR 102 MTH 120  or higher  or equivalent as determined by math placement exam; at least junior standing. (4) FQ

Decision-making processes in engineering with economic analysis, the role of quality and cost considerations in manufacturing, economies of scale, cash flow analysis, decisions involving capital expenditures.  Incremental analysis of multiple options, make or buy, rate of return, and present/future value analysis.  Income tax and interest considerations, sensitivity analysis, uncertainty, and risk analysis of economic decisions.  Students complete a project based on Monte Carlo simulation. Graded ABCDE
