INT 552 - Culture and Economy

Anthropological exploration of economic systems around the world and through history. Discussion of the relationship of economy and culture, and economy as culture. Critique of capitalism as a cultural and historical phenomenon rather than a description of the natural world. Theories of gift and exchange, the role of economic activity in social reproduction, the creation of groups and persons, and related topics.  Not open to students with credit for ANT 352/INT 352. Also listed as ANT 552 . Graded ABCDE
