Foundational skills in professional social work writing and professional practice, including critical and analytical writing and research strategies necessary for successful academic work in Social Work. Students explore core social work values and competencies through personal narratives and clarify their emerging professional identity in preparation for future practicum placements. Emphasis on writing-intensive assignments that connect students’ experiences to key values in social work practice, build students’ professional communication skills, and assist students in understanding and creating examples of professional social work writing.
