Critical examination of gender, racial, and class implications of criminal laws and criminal justice practices and programs. Exploration of how gender, class, and racial power and privilege shape our understanding of crime and justice in the United States, with special attention to how social location determines what are crimes, who are criminals, and who are victims.  Not open to students with credit for CRJ/WGS 433.
