This course is designed to explore how culture and poverty impact a student’s educational success in the classroom. Teachers and other practitioners will gain practical experiences on what it means to be poor in America while trying to pursue an education, as well as strategies to meet the needs of students in poverty and students with diverse cultural backgrounds.
