Study of the extraction of useful patterns from raw data using statistical techniques and machine learning methods. Topics include fundamental steps for exploratory data analysis including data pre-processing and visualization, dimension reduction and data transformation, and a variety of supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods such as classification, prediction and cluster analysis.
