Investigation of essential aspects of nursing research, evidence-based practice, and informatics. Students learn the nursing research process and how to retrieve and critically review research studies, translate research findings into practice, and use scientific evidence to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. A significant emphasis is placed on the use of health informatics, with discussion of the role of technology in providing safe patient care, ethical issues related to the use of technology, the use of digital health media, and the appraisal of patient information materials.
