Social Sciences (Joint Program)


Faculty Advisors: Advisors in the department of major emphasis

Requirements.

  1. At least 45 credits in the social sciences distributed as follows:
    1. At least 21 credits in one discipline selected as the area of special emphasis (history, political science, psychology or sociology). For students emphasizing psychology, 24 credits are required and must include the following:
      1. PSY 100  or PSY 101 , PSY 201 .
      2. One from: PSY 306 , PSY 310 , PSY 327 , PSY 351 , PSY 380 , PSY 384 , PSY 386 .
      3. Three from: PSY 309 , PSY 326 , PSY 328 , PSY 336 , PSY 345 .
    2. The remaining credits in two other disciplines (these may include the geography courses which are applicable to the social sciences general education requirement) approved by the advisor, with a minimum of nine credits in each.
    3. No more than two senior seminars.
  2. A grade point average of 2.0 or better within the concentration, based on the 45 credits of social science required.
  3. All requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)  Bachelor of Arts degree, including general education requirements and a foreign language.
