Anthropology General Program (BA)

Prerequisite. ANT 100  / INT 100  (3 credits).

Requirements. Thirty-nine to 43 credits distributed as follows:

  1. Archaeology/Biological/Linguistic Anthropology (10 credits).
    ANT 105 , ANT 110 , ANT 290 /LIN 290 .
  2. Cultural Area Courses (6 credits).
    Two from: ANT 240 , ANT 271 , ANT 284 , ANT 295 , ANT 318 , ANT 322 ; ANT 250 /AFA 250 .
  3. Social Theory (3 credits).
    ANT 302 /SOC 302  or ANT 303 /SOC 303 .
  4. At least eighteen credits, including at least one course from each area below:
    1. Historical Anthropology & Archaeology.ANT 299 /INT 299  , ANT 311 , ANT 375 /SOC 375 , ANT 398 .
    2. Cultural Dynamics/Identities. ANT 325 /SOC 325 , ANT 335  /LIN 335 , ANT 355 ; ANT 378 /WGS 378 , ANT 398 .
    3. Political Economy.ANT 351 /POL 351 ANT 352 /INT 352 , ANT 376 /INT 376 /SOC 376 /WGS 376 , ANT 398 , ANT 415 /INT 415 .
    4. Contemporary & Applied Issues. ANT 330 /HCR 330 , ANT 340 , ANT 370 , ANT 380 , ANT 398 .
  5. Capstone (3 credits). ANT 499 .
  6. All requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Bachelor of Arts  degree, including General Education requirements  and additional BA distribution requirements.
