International Business


Major in International Business

Objectives. The International Business major prepares students for professional careers in the global marketplace, in the fields of finance, marketing and management.

The curriculum emphasizes development of an understanding of these fields in a global perspective and familiarization with the differences between domestic and international business, giving the student skills to recognize and capitalize on opportunities in the global marketplaces and to experience globalization through study or an internship abroad.

International business faculty are available to consult with students wishing to pursue careers in international business.

Requirements. In addition to the requirements for the BBA degree , at least 18 additional credits as follows:

  1. MKT 432 , FIN 466 , INB 442 .
  2. BUS 394  (internship at an international company) or INB 480 . This requirement may be replaced by another international experiential learning activity, subject to approval by the international business faculty.
  3. Completion of one of the following options.
    1. Finance. FIN 363 , FIN 463 .
    2. Marketing. MKT 338 , MKT 435 .
    3. Management. MGT 347 , MGT 449 .
  4. Two courses in a focus elective in the topic areas of foreign language, international studies, or economics (ECN 360 , ECN 366  or ECN 367 ).
