Faculty Advisors: Advisors in the department of major emphasis
Requirements.
- At least 42 credits in the social sciences as follows:
- At least 21 credits in one discipline selected as the area of special emphasis (history, political science, psychology, sociology, anthropology, economics or geography).
For students emphasizing psychology, 22 credits are required and must include:
PSY 100 , PSY 200 PSY 300 .
Four from: PSY 309 , PSY 313 , PSY 315 , PSY 316 , PSY 317 .
For students emphasizing geography, 21-22 credits are required and must include:
GEO 115 , GEO 116 , GEO 216 , GEO 285 , RPL 311 , RPL 312 .
RPL 270 or RPL 370 .
- The remaining credits in two of the six other disciplines listed above, with a minimum of nine credits in each.
- SST 301 or capstone in area of emphasis.
- A grade point average of 2.0 or better within the concentration, based on the 42 required credits in social sciences.
- All requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Bachelor of Arts degree, including General Education requirements and additional BA distribution requirements.
