Spanish and Linguistics Program (BA)


Foreign Languages and Literatures Department  

Prerequisites. ANT 100 , LIN 200 , SPN 212  or equivalent proficiency as demonstrated by examination.

Requirements.

  1. LIN 313 , LIN 346  (6 credits).
  2. SPN 360 /LIN 360 , SPN 312 /HLS 312  (6 credits).
  3. SPN 301 , SPN 303 , SPN 309  (9 credits).
  4. SPN 310  or SPN 319 , SPN 311  or SPN 314  or SPN 318  or SPN 320  (6 credits).
  5. All requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Bachelor of Arts  degree, including General Education requirements  and additional BA distribution requirements (for which the foreign language requirement must be completed in a second foreign language).

Required Cognates.

  1. A western civilization or equivalent history course approved by the advisor; and an additional course pertinent to the history or culture of the Spanish-speaking world (6 credits).
  2. ENG 244  or a course in English or comparative literature approved by the advisor (3 credits).
  3. LIN 290 /ANT 290  or ANT 335 /LIN 335  (3 credits).
