Art of Painting Minor

This minor prepares students to practice a visual medium with a long and thriving history.  It supports students in developing painterly skills in a variety of traditional and exploratory techniques in the medium, including water color, oil paint, acrylic, mural painting, ink wash and miniatures.  Students develop creative skills in the artistic and expressive potential of painting through investigation of diverse subject matter from narrative to abstract depictions.

Requirements.

  1. ART 130 , ART 131 , ART 263  (9 credits).
  2. One from:  ARH 311 , ARH 312 , ARH 317 , ARH 319 , ARH 320 , ARH 321 , ARH 323 , ARH 331 , ARH 409  (3 credits).
  3. Four from:  ART 307 , ART 309 , ART 353 , ART 354 , ART 360 , ART 361 , ART 362 , ART 366 , ART 385 , ART 386 , ART 407 , ART 408  (12 credits).
