Requirements

At least 43 credits in the social sciences as follows:

A. Discipline of Emphasis (21-22 credits)

One of the following:

Psychology (22 credits)

PSY 100 - Principles of Psychology (3)
PSY 200 - General Experimental Psychology (4)
PSY 300 - Preparing for Careers in Psychology (3)
Four from:
PSY 309 - Abnormal Psychology (3)
PSY 313 - Developmental Psychology (3)
PSY 315 - Survey of Social Psychology (3)
PSY 316 - Biological Psychology (3)
PSY 317 - Cognitive Psychology (3)

Geography (22 credits)

ESS 285 - Environmental Hazards and Natural Disasters (3)
GIS 452 - Introduction to GIS (4)
GIS 271 - GIS for Environmental Management (3)
URP 111 - Introduction to Urban Geography and Planning (3)
URP 115 - World Regional Geography (3)
URP 116 - Human Geography (3)
URP 216 - Geography for Educators (3)

Anthropology, Economics, History, Political Science or Sociology (21 credits)

At least 21 credits in one of these areas of emphasis

B. Secondary Disciplines

A minimum of nine credits in each in two additional disciplines from those listed above.

C. Capstone (3 credits)

One from:

SST 301 - Social Studies Capstone Seminar (3)
A capstone course in the discipline of emphasis

D. Additional Requirements

A grade point average of 2.0 or better within the concentration, based on the 42 required credits in social sciences.
All requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Bachelor of Arts degree, including General Education and additional BA distribution requirements .

Minimum Credits for the Degree: 120 credits
