Digital Communication Certificate

The Certificate in Digital Communication includes courses in marketing, content creation and strategic communication focused on digital media. Students focus on how best to use digital tools to communicate with various audiences and adapt to new technologies. Offered fully online in seven week semesters, this certificate is only available to students pursuing the Accelerated Online Degree Completion Pathway of the Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) program.

After the student applies for graduation, the certificate is posted to the student’s official transcript and an official diploma stating the area of the certificate is issued.

Requirements (12 credits)

A minimum grade of C (2.0) is required in each course.

COM 365 - Social Media Communication (3)
MKT 237 - Digital Marketing Principles (3)

Additional Requirements

A minimum of 9 credits in the program must be completed at UM-Flint.

Coursework older than 3 years must be reviewed by the Behavioral Sciences Department for content alignment with current certificate requirements.
