Biology (BS/MS)

The Biology BS/MS program allows qualified undergraduate Biology BS students to complete an MS degree with 8 fewer credits than if the MS degree were pursued separately. Students interested in the BS/MS program should apply in the junior or senior year. A minimum GPA of 3.0 in biology courses is required for acceptance. Upon completion of the BS requirements, the student is awarded the BS degree. Upon completion of the remaining credits in the Biology MS program, the student is awarded the MS degree.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science

All requirements of the Biology General and Honors Programs (BS) , Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and Honors Programs (BS) , or Wildlife Biology and Honors Programs (BS) except that the student chooses with the advisor 8 credits at the graduate level to satisfy undergraduate elective course requirements.

GPAs of 3.0 in biology courses and 2.0 at UM-Flint overall are required; grades of B (3.0) or higher are required in all graduate courses.

Master of Science

All remaining requirements of the Biology (MS) , with grades of B (3.0) or higher

Honors Program

All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program . Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information.
