Human-Centered Design Program (BS)

The Human-Centered Design BS program will provide students with extensive training and research experience in applying human factors to real-world situations.  The program meets local demands for design experts in a variety of industries and responds to the needs of students who want to pursue careers in user-experience research and design and/or to explore, extend and integrate theoretical and practical issues in design using a human-centered approach.

The goals of the program are to:

  • Provide students knowledge to explore, extend, and integrate theoretical and practical issues in design using a human-centered approach
  • Provide students abilities to function in multidisciplinary teams and develop innovative solutions to real-life design problems
  • Prepare students for career opportunities in human-centered design

Requirements


Eight-eight credits as follows:

C. Mathematics and Statistics (8 credits)


E. Professional Tracks (16 credits)


Four courses from one of the following concentrations:

All requirements of the College of Innovation & Technology  Bachelor of Science degree, including all General Education  requirements and University of Michigan-Flint graduation requirements  


Minimum Credits for the Degree: 120 credits

Honors Program


All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program . Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information.
