Soft Skills for the Workplace Certificate
Being able to navigate the complex and delicate nuances involved in interpersonal communication is essential to healthy workplace relationships. With courses in communication studies, management and psychology, the Workplace Relations Certificate provides an interdisciplinary approach to “soft skills” needed for the workplace. Through guided practice, students gain foundational communication skills, interpersonal communication competence and sensitivity, and have opportunities for applied interpersonal communication in the workplace.
The certificate is open to all students. It may be earned in conjunction with a degree program or as a stand-alone credential. (Students pursuing a stand-alone credential are not eligible for federal financial aid and may not participate in Commencement.) After the student applies for graduation, the certificate is posted to the student’s official transcript and an official diploma stating the area of the certificate is issued.
