The General Program in Communication Studies offers students liberal arts coursework as a supporting program for careers in communication, including but not limited to communication training and development, media, law and public relations, as well as graduate study.

Requirements
No more than 50 credits in Communication may be counted towards the BA degree. B. Core Courses (15 credits)

One from: Human Interaction (3 credits)
One from: Diversity and Difference (3 credits)
One from: Mediated Communication (6 credits)
Two from: Strategic Communication (6 credits)
Two from: D. Cognate
To increase the student’s ability to understand and apply Communication and to see its interdisciplinary nature, a block of courses outside the Communication program, fulfilled in any of the following ways: - Four courses (12 credits), chosen with the approval of the student’s advisor, in one or more disciplines
- A certificate
- A minor
- A second major
Honors Program
All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program . Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information. |
