Exercise Science Program (BS)

The Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science program is designed for students interested in studying relationships between physical activity and health and wellness across the lifespan. The program provides both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as disease prevention, athletic conditioning, nutrition, and weight control to support optimal health and performance. 
 
The program prepares students to seek advanced certifications such as ACSM’s Certified Exercise Physiologist and NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. The coursework prepares students to work in various settings, including corporate wellness, community health, clinical rehabilitation, personal training, and strength and conditioning. The program also provides a strong foundation for students planning to pursue graduate or professional programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, athletic training, chiropractic, strength and conditioning, biomechanics, and cardiac rehabilitation.

Honors Program


All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program . Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information.
