The World Language for Professional Purposes Certificate combines UM-Flint language courses with study abroad experiences for students who want to advance their multilingual skills. Beginning courses in world languages are completed at UM-Flint and intermediate or advanced discipline-specific language courses are completed abroad.
Students will benefit from cultural and linguistic immersion in their study abroad. Advisors and staff at the Center for Global Engagement will support students in finding courses abroad.
The certificate is open to all undergraduate students and must be earned in conjunction with a degree program. After the student applies for graduation, the certificate is posted to the student’s official transcript and an official diploma stating the area of the certificate is issued.
