Dance fieldwork with a community partner, providing context for understanding social and cultural perspectives embodied by community-based dance and performing arts and the value of these arts to their communities. Students consider social and cultural perspectives while examining the theory and practice of dance within communities, identify assumptions about themselves through critical reflection, and gain skills in civic engagement.
