Integration and synthesis of knowledge of the advanced practice nursing role. Students develop theoretical insights relevant to advanced practice through discussion of models, scope of practice, and core competencies including professional practice, knowledge translation, teaching, systems leadership, and quality outcomes. The practicum provides continued clinical exposure to enhance students’ professional identity and role development in all domains of practice: direct care, teaching, professional practice, knowledge translation, systems leadership, quality and care outcomes.
