Introduction to the basic skills and competencies foundational to professional nursing practice. Emphasis on The Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education, which include patient-centered care, patient safety, and evidence-based practice. Students engage in hands-on activities in the clinical and simulation center setting to ensure the development of these competencies. May be reelected to a total of 3 credits. Graded Pass/Fail
