Introduction to the basic science and technology of converting solar energy into electricity, exploring advantages, limitations and challenges of different solar cell technologies, as studied in a lab-scale setting. Emphasis on understanding the working principle of the solar cell, the composition and fabrication of various types of solar cells, and the construction of photovoltaic (PV) devices-module as advanced semiconductor devices that convert electricity from sunlight.
