Biology of microorganisms with an emphasis on prokaryotes and viruses. Lectures include microbial anatomy, physiology, growth, genetics, molecular regulation, and host-microbe interactions. Lab work includes basic culturing, aseptic technique, identification techniques, growth assays, and molecular microbiology techniques. Lecture and Laboratory. Not open to students with credit for BIO 405/BIO 406, or BIO 435. Graded ABCDE
