Physiology and chemistry of resistance to infection and responses to foreign biological substances of a potentially harmful nature. Includes natural immunity, antigen-antibody reactions, immunosuppression and tolerance, the complement system, hypersensitivity, immune deficiencies, autoimmunity, and tumor immunology. Applications include serology. Lecture. BIO 425 and BIO 485 may not both be counted toward a Biology major.
