Program Mission and Assessment
The MA in English Language and Literature encourages a broad study of historical, theoretical, and methodological research and texts in the areas of literature, writing, composition studies, linguistics, literacy, and English pedagogy. The program reflects the English Department’s uniquely multi-disciplinary nature and its commitment to nurturing, in a seminar-based approach, independent researchers, teachers, and lifelong learners. The Program participates in the University-wide effort to assess its academic programs. Information on assessment plans, including goals, methods and outcomes is available at http://www.umflint.edu/assessment/
