For a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in history, the student is expected to complete a balanced program of studies in history, the other social sciences, and the humanities as approved by the advisor.
Requirements.
- Thirty-three or more credits in history, to include:
- Two from: HIS 112 , HIS 113 , HIS 114 .
- HIS 220 , HIS 221 .
- HIS 299 .
- An additional 15 credit hours in history courses numbered 300 or above, excluding HIS 301 , so distributed as to give the student a comprehensive knowledge of several fields, including a minimum of one upper-level class in non-western history and advanced work in one field. Courses must be selected with the approval of the departmental advisor.
- HIS 301 , normally elected in the senior year.
- During the third and fourth year at least nine credits in cognates chosen from the social sciences or the humanities with the approval of the advisor; to include two courses at the advanced level in a single discipline.
- All requirements of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Bachelor of Arts degree, including General Education requirements and additional BA distribution requirements.
