EGR 260 - Mechanics of Deformable Solids (3).
EGR 280 - Science of Engineering Materials (3).
EGR 315 - Machine Element Design (3).
EGR 350 - Fluid Mechanics (3).
EGR 353 - Thermodynamics (3).
EGR 370 - Dynamics (3).

Requirements

A. Core Courses (12 credits)

EGR 511 - Advanced Mechanics of Materials (3).
EGR 530 - Advanced Heat Transfer (3).
EGR 540 - Advanced Dynamics and Control (3).
EGR 550 - Advanced Fluid Mechanics (3).

B. Electives (15 credits)

At least five additional EGR, AUE or IOE courses, including at nine credits in EGR courses.

Note: Elective courses offered at both undergraduate and gradute level must be elected at the graduate level, are limited to a total of nine credits, and a minimum grade of B (3.0) is required in each course.

C. Option of Choice (6 credits)

One of the following options:

Thesis Option

Students electing the thesis option must secure a thesis supervisor and enroll in two thesis courses. Successful completion and oral defense of a thesis are required to earn credit for these courses. All these must conform to university standards.

Note: No independent study course is allowed toward program requirements under the thesis option.

EGR 595 - Master’s Thesis I (3).
EGR 596 - Master’s Thesis II (3).

Non-Thesis Option

Two additional EGR, AUE or IOE courses and satisfactory performance on the master’s level exit examination.

Note: At most one independent study course is allowed toward program requirements under the non-thesis option. Also see the note in Item B.

Transfer of Credit

With approval of the Engineering Graduate Coordinator, students may transfer in, or elect as graduate non-candidates for degree (NCFD), up to six credits of graduate-level courses in engineering.
