The Master of Arts in Inclusive Education program is designed for educators who seek to deepen their knowledge and expand their skills on best practices for teaching in an inclusive classroom. Knowledge on diverse/exceptional students is not required, as the program includes study of diverse and exceptional students as well as methods for instruction. This 30-credit, cohort program coincides with the standards for the National Council for Exceptional Children Advanced Special Education Inclusive Specialist.
The program is designed for individuals with bachelor’s degrees and either teaching certificates or experience working in early childhood settings. The program does not lead to a teacher certification or special education endorsement. All students must have access to children, youth or adolescents, in order to complete required filedwork in select courses.
Admission Requirements
Prospective student must a have a minimum of 3.0 in the bachelor’s degree, and be currently teaching or have access to an early childhood or P-12 classroom.
