Specialist in Aging Minor

The Specialist in Aging is designed to provide a broad orientation to the field of aging. The program prepares students for the Michigan Nursing Home Licensure Exam and is intended to complement and enhance career opportunities for students across a variety of majors. The Specialist in Aging program is open to UM-Flint students as a minor and to non-degree students as a certificate program.

Requirements

15 credits, as follows:

AGE 350 - Health and Aging (3)
AGE 352 - Chronic Illness and Aging (3)
AGE 378 - Organization and Administration of Long-Term Care (3)
AGE 379 - Wellness in the Face of Loss (3)
AGE 380 - Regulations and Policies in Long-Term Care Operations (3)

Note

If completing the minor along with PHHS major, 9 additional credit hours beyond major requirements must be completed in order to qualify for both the major and the minor.
