The Master of Arts in Mathematics Education for Elementary and Early Child Educators program has been placed on moratorium status and is no longer accepting new students. Students who have already declared this major will be allowed to complete their program.
The Mathematics Education for Elementary and Early Child Educators program, leading to a Master of Arts degree, is designed for educators of Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 children who seek to become elementary Mathematics Specialists. Minimal prior knowledge of mathematics is required, as the program includes both an extensive in-depth study of elementary mathematics as well as pedagogy methods. This 35-credit cohort program complies with the Standards for Elementary Mathematics Specialists of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE).
Courses are offered for the working professional through a mixture of two-week face-to-face summer sessions and Fall and Winter classes combing online and in-person meetings.
