There is an increased demand for health professionals throughout the world as the need and expectation for high-quality public health services continues to grow. The certificate in Public Health provides key foundations in public health: epidemiology, public health administration and policy, and the social determinants of health.
The graduate certificate in Public Health consists of ten credit hours of coursework and is offered fully online. The curriculum is designed for practicing health professionals, working in such settings as health care, health insurance agencies, government agencies, community health organizations and academic institutions, who want to contribute to the successful resolution of public health challenges.
The certificate can be completed alone, as part of the Master of Science of Health Services Administration stackable degree program, or as part of the Master of Public Health degree (students pursuing a stand-alone credential are not eligible for federal financial aid and may not participate in Commencement.) After the student applies for graduation, the certificate is posted to the student’s official transcript and an official diploma stating the area of the certificate is issued.
