Health Sciences/Physical Therapy 3+3 (BS/DPT)

The Health Sciences BS/Physical Therapy DPT program is designed for students interested in pursuing an accelerated undergraduate Health Sciences degree in three years, followed by the DPT graduate degree in two additional years.  The curriculum allows students to earn both BS and DPT degrees with potentially 33 fewer credits and one year sooner than if completing the degree programs separately.

The degrees are independent; each is awarded when completed, with specified courses accepted for the DPT degree after the BS degree is awarded.

The dual program courses are offered in a variety of delivery formats including face-to-face, mixed-mode, and online.

Admission Requirements
Students admitted to the University of Michigan-Flint may declare the BS/DPT dual program. Students are required to maintain a 3.3 GPA starting with the Fall semester of the sophomore year in the program. Those students who cannot maintain the required GPA may transfer into the traditional 4-year track within the BS in Health Sciences program or another bachelor’s program they qualify to pursue.

However, maintaining good standing (GPA of 3.3 or higher) in the program does not guarantee admission to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.  Admission requirements for the Physical Therapy Program remain the same for all applicants and can be found here .
