The BS program in Health Informatics and Information Management prepares students to apply their knowledge and skills in the healthcare system to enhance people’s quality of care and quality of life. The program uses the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) instructional framework to prepare students and alumni to meet standards and to acquire knowledge and skills to address the needs of the healthcare system and the market in light of government guidelines and regulations.

Prerequisites
A minimum grade of C (2.0) is required in each course: Applied Courses
A minimum grade of C (2.0) or better is required in each course: Health Information Management Track of Choice
One of the following tracks, chosen in conjunction with the academic advisor: HIM Privacy & Security Track
HIM Flex Track
15 credits in approved courses selected with the academic advisor Health Informatics and Information Management Internship
Honors Program
All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program . Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information. |
