In-depth knowledge for advanced practice nursing management of acutely and critically ill young, middle-aged and older adults from diverse populations. Emphasis on utilization of relevant theories, critical thinking, and evidence-based knowledge to formulate differential diagnoses, treatment plans, and optimal outcome parameters for physiologically unstable adults with complex acute and critical health problems who are technically dependent and at high risk for developing complications. Exploration of nutrition, gastrointestinal/bariatric, renal, musculoskeletal, toxicology, MODS/SIRS, and infectious disease problems in acutely and critically ill young, middle-aged, and older adults.
