The program provides post-baccalaureate education in a field of study especially important for in-service teachers and administrators. The program also provides opportunity to students wishing to pursue a Ph.D. program in the social sciences after completion of the Master’s degree.

Graduates of the program should be able to: critically analyze primary and secondary texts; construct theses and arguments in the social sciences; interpret social science research; use appropriate documentation style; and write critically and analytically.
