Chemistry Program (BA) (Currently in Moratorium)

The Chemistry and Honors Program (BA) has been placed on moratorium status and is not currently accepting new students.  Students who have already declared this major will be allowed to complete their program.

 

Chemistry and Biochemistry (CMB) information  

The Bachelor of Arts program in Chemistry is designed for students who want to gain a general background in chemistry, to prepare themselves for entry into medical, dental, osteopathic or veterinary school, or to make use of the science of chemistry in their careers. It is not intended for students preparing to be professional scientists or planning to enter graduate study in any of the chemical sciences. Typical career tracks for someone with a BA in Chemistry might involve health care, scientific writing, library science/chemical literature, journalism, patent law, sales for a technical corporation, industrial marketing/management, or the pursuit of an advanced degree in a field such as business administration, library science or law.

Pre-Pharmacy Concentration (33 credits)

E. Additional Requirements


All University of Michigan-Flint graduation requirements including General Education Program  requirements and:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in CHM courses.
  • Minimum of 25 credits in CHM courses at the 300 level or above taken at UM-Flint.

  

Minimum Credits for the Degree: 124 credits

Honors Program


All bachelor-degree-seeking students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Program.  Please contact the Honors Program Manager or the Honors Program Director for further information.
